Commander of CENTCOM Calls Yemeni Forces the Biggest Current Challenge
According to webangah News agency, Michael kurilla, head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), claimed during Tuesday’s hearing that while Iran’s proxy forces are at their “weakest,” Yemen’s Houthi-led armed forces now pose the most notable challenge.
The CENTCOM commander-without acknowledging Washington’s decades-long failed hostility toward Iran-asserted: “If President Trump orders it, we stand ready to respond with overwhelming force to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons!” He added that the U.S. faces a “strategic possibility” to block Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
Kurilla, whose country has yet to achieve any success against Yemen’s military and popular resistance, insisted that a military solution against Iran remains viable: “I’ve presented President Trump and the Defense Secretary with a wide range of options.”
He warned: ”If Israel attacks Iran, our regional forces will face heightened risks.”
