New York Times: Netanyahu Shocked by Debate Over Iran
According to webangah News Agency, The New York Times cited an official source reporting that U.S.President Donald Trump spoke wiht Benjamin Netanyahu to ensure the Israeli leader would not obstruct ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
The report added that this conversation marks the latest chapter in increasingly strained relations between the two allies, with tensions escalating daily.
Citing Netanyahu’s associates, The New York Times also stated that the Israeli prime minister was shocked by trump’s insistence on pursuing a political solution to disputes with Iran.
During yesterday’s phone call, Trump and the Israeli prime minister discussed a wide range of issues, including Iran and the Gaza conflict.
A Zionist source who requested anonymity revealed that yesterday’s call regarding Iran and Gaza was highly contentious. Trump reportedly pressured Netanyahu to promptly end the Gaza conflict and avoid prolonging it further.
The two leaders agreed that before upcoming nuclear talks between U.S. special Representative for Iran Stephen Witkopf and Iranian officials, Israel’s Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and Mossad chief would meet with their American counterparts.
