Uruguay’s Export Orders Surge to $1.169 Billion
Uruguay’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency reports increased export orders for commercial goods in May this year.
According to webangah News agency, Uruguay XXI (Uruguay’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency) announced that export orders for various commercial goods reached $1.169 billion in May 2024, marking a 1% increase compared to May 2023.
The report indicates Uruguay’s exports totaled $5.119 billion during the first five months of 2024 (January-may), showing 4% growth year-on-year.
Beef exports led at $256 million, followed by cellulose ($203 million) and soybeans ($124 million) as Uruguay’s top three export commodities in May.
China ($271 million), the European Union ($206 million), Brazil ($160 million), and the United States ($129 million) were Uruguay’s primary export destinations during this period.
