US Backs Smotrich and Ben-Gvir ‘Without Reservation
The United States has condemned sanctions imposed by five Western countries against Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, far-right Zionist ministers, while Australian prime Minister anthony Albanese stated Washington’s stance was predictable.
Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, said America rejects the sanctions imposed by the governments of the UK, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, and Australia against two current members of the Zionist regime’s cabinet.
On Tuesday, these nations sanctioned Ben-Gvir and Smotrich over allegations of repeatedly inciting violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Rubio posted on X: “These sanctions do nothing to advance US-led efforts to achieve a ceasefire, secure hostage returns, or end this war.”
He added: “the United States calls for these sanctions to be revoked and stands with Israel.”
Amer Maimon, the Zionist regime’s ambassador to Australia, also condemned the measures as “deeply concerning and completely unacceptable.”
Penny Wong, Australia’s Foreign Minister, confirmed that the sanctions include asset freezes and travel bans to all five countries.
