Putin’s Advisor: Prolonged War Against Moscow Is Impossible
Vladimir Medinsky,an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, asserts that Ukraine’s resistance in negotiations and unwillingness to compromise will lead to the loss of more of its territory, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
Medinsky, who heads Russia’s negotiating team with Ukraine, stated: “We want peace. But if Ukraine continues acting under the influence of other nations’ interests, we will have no choice but to respond decisively.”
He further warned that Kyiv’s refusal to seek compromise would only result in additional territorial concessions.
Citing Russia’s 21-year war against the Swedish Empire in the 18th century under Tsarist rule, Medinsky emphasized: “Fighting Russia for an extended period is impossible.”
Moscow annexed four Ukrainian regions-Donetsk, Luhansk, kherson and Zaporizhzhia-through referendums shortly after launching its military operation in February 2022. Russian forces have since continued advancing in these areas.
