Trump: Hopes for Deal with Iran Have Diminished!
According to webangah News Agency, citing the New York Post via Mehr News Agency, U.S. President donald Trump-who has repeatedly insisted on halting Tehran’s uranium enrichment program as a key condition for a nuclear agreement while facing firm opposition from the islamic Republic of Iran-stated he is gradually losing hope that Tehran will agree to end uranium enrichment.
When asked whether he believes he can “force Iran to shut down its nuclear program,” Trump replied: “I don’t know. I used to think so,but I’m becoming less and less confident about it.”
He claimed: “It seems like they’re stalling, and I think that’s unfortunate. But right now, I’m less confident than I was a few months ago. something has happened on their side, but my confidence in reaching an agreement has decreased.”
The U.S.president reiterated threats against Tehran when questioned about potential outcomes: “If they don’t make a deal, they won’t get nuclear weapons. If they do make a deal, they still won’t have them. But it woudl be better if this happens without war and bloodshed. However, I don’t see the same level of enthusiasm from their side for an agreement anymore.” He added: “I think they’ll make a mistake-but we’ll see what happens. Time will tell.”
When pressed on whether Beijing influences Tehran’s resistance to U.S demands, Trump dismissed the idea but speculated: “Maybe they just don’t want a deal at all-or maybe they do? Nothing is certain.”
Earlier, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized Iran’s clear red lines regarding its nuclear program: “Uranium enrichment is our scientific achievement accomplished by our scientists-we cannot abandon it.”
