Zakharova: Russia Ready to Play Role in Iran-US Negotiations
according to webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Wednesday regarding U.S. protests, stating: “As the current U.S. president has noted, the country is experiencing a deep crisis.”
The Russian diplomat added: “This is their internal matter; there are no conspiracies from beijing or interference from the Kremlin.”
Regarding Iran, Zakharova said: “Russia hopes dialogue between Iran and the United states will yield results and stands ready to contribute to the negotiation process. Both Iran and America are aware of Russia’s willingness to assist. Moscow maintains contact with Tehran, and we continue close coordination with our Iranian partners while maintaining clear communication about our approaches with American counterparts.”
She further emphasized: ”Both Tehran and Washington recognize Russia’s preparedness to provide necessary assistance in formulating key aspects of a negotiated solution - one that strictly adheres to international law while eliminating suspicions about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.”
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative to international organizations in Vienna, previously told Al-Mayadeen network that Moscow stands ready to mediate between Tehran and Washington for a political resolution regarding Iran’s nuclear dossier, affirming that Iran has every right to enrich uranium as an NPT member state.
