Al-Aalam Speculates on Successor to Sinwar Brothers
According to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Al-Alam reported that Ezzedin Haddad-nicknamed “The Qassam Ghost”-has likely become Hamas’s military commander amid the possible martyrdom of Mohammed Sinwar, younger brother of Yahya Sinwar and leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
The report highlights Haddad’s expertise in covert operations and evasion of assassination attempts, earning him important standing among resistance forces against Israeli security agencies.
Haddad previously commanded Gaza City’s division as a member of Hamas’s restricted military council, directly overseeing six brigades. He plays a pivotal role in planning and executing military operations, ranking among Hamas’s key operational figures.
On the eve of the October 7, 2023 “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, he secretly assembled subordinate commanders to issue written attack orders emphasizing the capture and transfer of Zionist soldiers to Gaza.
A close ally of Yahya Sinwar, Haddad also contributed significantly to establishing Qassam’s security infrastructure. Sources indicate he assumed command after Mohammed Sinwar’s assassination. Israel’s Defense Minister recently listed him among primary military targets alongside othre senior commanders.
The Zionist regime’s army claims to have recovered Mohammed Sinwar’s body-the younger brother of martyred military commander Yahya Sinwar. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserts his assassination occured during a May 13 airstrike in Khan Younis per Israeli media reports,though Hamas has yet to confirm this claim.
