Time and Location of New Round of Iran-US Talks Announced
According to webangah News Agency, Omani Foreign Minister badr al-Busaidi stated on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the sixth round of Iran-US negotiations will take place next Sunday in Muscat, Oman’s capital.
The American news outlet Axios, citing a US official, reported that senior American negotiator Steve Wittkopf will meet with Islamic Republic of Iran Deputy foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in Muscat on Sunday.
The indirect talks regarding Iran’s nuclear program have been held five times previously in Muscat and Rome.
Iran has repeatedly stated it never sought nuclear weapons and that an agreement is possible if the US aims to prevent Iranian nuclear armament. However, Tehran maintains its “red line” of continuing uranium enrichment on its own soil.
