Russia: IAEA Board Resolution Lacked Broad Support
Russia’s envoy to the IAEA stated that the anti-Iran resolution at the Board of Governors lacked widespread support from member states.
According to webangah News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), responded to the adoption of an anti-Iran resolution proposed by the U.S. and three European countries at the IAEA Board of Governors, emphasizing that it passed with only 19 votes in favor.
The Russian envoy added that the resolution did not enjoy broad or convincing support.
The IAEA Board of Governors approved a resolution on Iran’s non-compliance with its obligations, with 19 votes in favor, three against, and 11 abstentions. the resolution does not refer Iran’s case to the UN Security Council.
