Russia: IAEA Board Resolution Lacked Broad Support

Russia’s envoy to the ⁣IAEA stated that the anti-Iran resolution at the Board ⁣of Governors lacked widespread support from member states.

According to webangah News Agency,⁣ Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), responded ​to the adoption​ of ⁣an ⁣anti-Iran resolution proposed by the U.S. and three European countries at​ the IAEA ⁣Board of Governors, emphasizing that ⁤it passed with only 19 votes in favor.

The Russian envoy added that ​the resolution did not enjoy broad or convincing support.

The​ IAEA Board of Governors approved a resolution ⁢on Iran’s non-compliance with its ‍obligations, with ⁤19 votes⁤ in ‍favor, three against, and 11 abstentions. ​the resolution does⁤ not refer Iran’s case to the UN Security Council.
