Alawi: If War Breaks Out, No Trace of America Will Remain in the Region
Abu Ala al-Walai, Secretary-General of Iraq’s Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, warned on Thursday that if war breaks out against Iran, hundreds of martyrdom-seeking fighters would be deployed to target US interests. The statement was reported by webangah News Agency.
In a social media post, al-Walai stated: “The Americans will face humiliation for the second time, just as they were forced to withdraw from this country in disgrace the first time.”
He added: “This time, no trace of America or its mercenaries will remain in the region, and the regimes supporting the occupiers will also collapse.”
A senior unnamed Iranian official told Reuters that escalating regional tensions are merely psychological warfare aimed at influencing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US.
Simultaneously occurring, Laura Rozen, a reporter for Al-Monitor, recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that increased Western media reports about “rising tensions in the region”-including evacuations of some US embassy staff in Iraq ahead of new indirect Iran-US talks-constitute a form of “psychological operation.”
