Major General Mohammad Pakpour appointed as Commander-in-Chief of IRGC

The text of the decree of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

To Major General Mohammad Pakpour,

In light of your meritorious services and valuable experience, and in view of the glorious, honorable martyrdom of Lieutenant General Hossein Salami at the hands of the evil Zionist regime, I appoint you as the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

That which is expected is continuous advancement in proportion to needs, ensuring comprehensive capabilities and preparedness throughout all sectors, as well as strengthening the inner essence of the IRGC, namely piety and insight. In addition, promoting leadership that’s equipped with a spiritual foundation and expert competencies, along with the cultural elevation of the IRGC, are expected in your movement toward the anticipated perfection.

On the eve of the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Ghadir Khumm, I pray to Almighty God for this devoted, sincere martyr’s elevation to the highest rank and position, and I pray for him to be placed alongside those who are closest to God, especially the Master of the Monotheists, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (pbuh).

I ask God Almighty to grant success to you and your colleagues.
