Sudan Opposes Using Iraqi Soil for Attacks on Neighboring Countries
According to webangah News Agency, citing the Iraqi Prime Minister’s media office, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani met with U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Steven Fagin and the commander of American coalition forces following Israel’s attack on Iran.
Al-Sudani emphasized during the meeting: “Iraq’s steadfast position is that what happened against Iran constitutes a clear violation of international law and an act of aggression that undermines global order while threatening regional and international security. This attack occurred amid ongoing diplomatic efforts-not only sabotaging these efforts but demonstrating deliberate intent to escalate regional tensions.”
He added: “We categorically reject using Iraqi soil or airspace to launch or enable hostile measures against any neighboring nation, affirming Iraq’s right and duty to protect its sovereignty. The Iraqi government will take all legal measures in this regard and demands international parties respect this principle.”
The Prime Minister stressed the urgent need for global action, notably by the UN Security Council, to prohibit force usage and prevent uncontrolled violence in the region.
