ElBaradei Sarcastically Responds to German Foreign Ministry Statement on ‘Violation of Iran’s Sovereignty
According to webangah News Agency, former International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamed ElBaradei sarcastically reacted on platform X to the German Foreign Ministry’s statement regarding Israel’s military attack on Iran. He wrote: “Has anyone ever told you that ‘targeted attacks on nuclear facilities’ are prohibited under Article 56 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions (which Germany is also party to)?”
“Or have they informed you that the use of force in international relations is generally prohibited under Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, except in self-defense against armed attack or with UN Security Council authorization for collective security actions? Perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to familiarize yourself better with basic principles of international law,” he added.
The German Foreign Ministry issued a prejudiced statement condemning Iran’s response to Israeli attacks without acknowledging Israel’s initial aggression against Iranian individuals, nuclear facilities, and civilians – which resulted in multiple casualties and damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
germany adopted a hostile and biased stance against Iran while ignoring potential threats from israel’s nuclear arsenal - despite Israel not being a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) - and falsely labeled Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as a regional threat.
