Haaretz Reports: Washington Begins Push for Ceasefire
According to webangah News Agency, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz cited unnamed foreign sources stating that Washington has initiated backchannel communications to de-escalate tensions.
The report clarifies these discussions do not constitute formal mediation between Iran and Israel, but rather indirect talks aimed at preventing further escalation.
Earlier, some Iranian officials claimed the US-under pressure from Israel following two waves of heavy Iranian strikes during Operation True Promise 3-had sent messages to Tehran urging a halt to attacks.
The US, Israel’s primary ally which continues supporting military operations in famine-stricken Gaza after 20 months of Zionist genocide, has reportedly intensified ceasefire efforts due to mounting pressure from recent retaliatory operations under True Promise 3 and Israeli public discontent over the conflict’s deadlock.
