Islamic Nations Launch Largest Initiative to Lift Gaza Blockade
According to a report by webangah News agency, citing the Palestinian Details Center, Malaysian civil society organizations announced the launch of the largest international initiative aimed at breaking the imposed blockade on gaza through a global maritime fleet comprising a thousand ships from multiple continents. This effort, described as an “Uprising of Human Conscience,” seeks to support Palestine and hold Zionist occupiers accountable for their ongoing crimes against Gaza.
The announcement was made by Azmi Abdul Hamid, chairman of Malaysia’s Muslim organizations Coordination Council, during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur. He emphasized that this initiative responds to escalating Zionist provocations and genocide in Gaza and has gained increasing support from organizations across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Abdul Hamid further stated that the seizure of the ship *Madelin* has drawn global attention to Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, reinvigorating solidarity movements worldwide.
he added that the Thousand-Ship Fleet benefits from greater coordination compared to 2010’s Freedom Flotilla.
A joint statement signed by dozens of Malaysian organizations outlined key objectives: lifting Gaza’s blockade promptly, delivering humanitarian aid, securing international backing for Palestinians, and prosecuting occupying forces for war crimes.
The initiative also pressures governments to take duty by supporting participating citizens-a move expected to intensify pressure on Israel’s regime.
Separately, Malaysian activists protested outside Malaysia Investment Committee offices demanding an end to ties with companies supporting Israeli occupation forces-particularly U.S.-based Caterpillar-accused of supplying equipment used in West Bank demolitions and settlements. Protesters condemned continued collaboration as complicity in war crimes.
The Muslim Organizations Coordination Council also announced practical steps like establishing international offices and funding mechanisms for long-term campaign expansion.
Observers predict this fleet will become a focal point amid growing global solidarity with Gaza following international bodies’ failure to halt Israeli aggression.
