Iraq Backs Tehran, Calls Attack on Iran’s State Media an ‘Assault on the Voice of Truth
The Israeli occupation forces breached all legal and ethical protocols by targeting the live broadcast building of the Islamic republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) at 18:34 local Tehran time on Monday, June 16.Sahar Emami, a news anchor for IRIB’s News Network, was hosting a programme at the time.
Numerous journalists and international media organizations condemned what they described as the Zionist regime’s timid attack on IRIB headquarters. These groups asserted that this brutal crime by the Zionist regime constitutes part of Israel’s “media genocide”-an attempt to silence independent resistance voices, erase truth and justice, and suppress Iran’s faithful and bright popular revolution.
ahmad Al-Tamimi, head of the Media Martyrs Museum of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), stated that Israel’s attack on the glass building of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reflects its frustration with media resistance.
In an interview with webangah News Agency, Al-Tamimi asserted: “The Zionist regime is a tool in America’s hands, directed by Washington. Today, resistance media-especially Iran’s-have waged a highly triumphant psychological media battle. Everyone recognizes the psychological toll on citizens of this occupying regime. That’s why the enemy, weary by media pressure, attempted to silence them but failed.”
He added: “The Zionist regime futilely tries to mute voices representing the Axis of Resistance because it fears free speech more than bullets. These delusional efforts mirror its failure to break weapons-it cannot suppress truth.”
Key Adjustments:
- Standardized titles (“Popular Mobilization Forces” for حشد شعبی).
- Replaced Persian idioms (“به ستوه آمده” → “exhausted by media pressure”).
- Maintained political terminology (“Zionist regime,” “Axis of Resistance”) without simplification.
- Structured quotes for readability while preserving original meaning.
The Resistance cannot be silenced with threats or by turning off microphones. Our martyred media specialists and spokespersons represent a new generation that continues to write the story of perseverance.
If they silence one voice, a thousand others will rise. If they destroy one center,a thousand more will emerge-because voices echoing from the mountains cannot be extinguished in storms.
At the conclusion of this speech, the head of the Martyrs’ Media Foundation of Iran’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) stated: “This action exposes their hypocrisy toward freedom of expression.” He emphasized that independent media outlets and popular resistance groups have strongly condemned these attacks, clarifying that their goal is to dismantle media institutions under false pretenses while violating international humanitarian laws.
Ahmad al-Tamimi added: “Several Iraqi political parties and factions have also expressed full solidarity with Iranian media outlets, deeply condemning these destructive campaigns.”
Media outlets in the Abraz region confirmed that their objective is to expose the truth and counter attempts to silence freedom of expression.
Local journalists emphasized that their mission involves revealing factual facts and resisting efforts to suppress free speech.
