EU’s Borrell and Egypt’s FM Shoukry Urge Regional De-escalation
Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, held a phone call to review recent developments in the middle East, according to webangah news agency.
The two officials discussed international efforts to advance peace initiatives and explored ways to strengthen global and regional coordination aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
Both sides emphasized the urgent need to support de-escalation measures that could contribute to lasting peace across the region and beyond.
This follows Al-Budaiwi’s earlier consultations with UN Secretary-General António Guterres regarding Middle East tensions and ongoing stabilization efforts.
