Egypt’s Foreign Minister Calls Iraqi, Slovak Counterparts Amid Regional Tensions
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held discussions with Abbas araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and Steve Waittkauf, the US Special Representative for the Middle East, to mediate de-escalation efforts between Iran and the Zionist regime, according to webangah News Agency.
Tamer Khalaf, spokesperson for Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Abdelatty emphasized during phone calls with american and Iranian officials the urgent need to reduce regional tensions through diplomatic solutions. The minister stressed averting further escalation of conflicts in West Asia amid the current crisis.
Abdelatty reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire and a return to dialog frameworks as critical steps toward stability.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister emphasized dialogue as the only path to a lasting agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister further stressed that military solutions do not exist for the crises witnessed in the region, underscoring the urgent need to prevent conflict escalation and avoid plunging the area into widespread chaos, which would harm all parties involved.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister’s diplomatic engagements follow directives from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as part of Egypt’s efforts to halt hostilities between Israel and Iran.
