Al-Sudani Reiterates Opposition to Using Iraqi Airspace Against Iran
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani has again emphasized Baghdad’s opposition to violations of Iraqi airspace and its use for attacks against Iran, according to a report by webangah News Agency, citing the Iraqi Waa News agency.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a release that British Ambassador to Baghdad Stephen Hitchen met with al-Sudani on Saturday.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed regional developments, prospects for bilateral cooperation, and ways to strengthen relations across various fields in a manner serving mutual interests.
Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm stance against airspace violations and the continued use of Iraqi territory by the Zionist regime for attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iraq’s Prime Minister condemned the actions as a threat to international security and peace.
The Prime Minister of Iraq emphasized that major countries,particularly UN Security Council members,must fulfill their responsibility to halt aggression-whether against Iran or the daily killings by occupying forces in Gaza. He stressed the urgent need to ensure humanitarian aid reaches besieged civilians.
He reiterated the critical necessity of allowing aid into blockaded Gaza residents.
