Venezuela’s Parliament Chief Demands Withdrawal from International Criminal Court
According to webangah News agency, Venezuela’s National Assembly expressed strong dissatisfaction with the ICC’s failure to address the conduct of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in Gaza and its attack on Iran, demanding Venezuela’s exit from this international legal body.
Jorge Rodríguez, head of Venezuela’s National Assembly, stated during a protest march in Caracas against Israel’s aggression toward Iran: “Today, my wish is for President Nicolás Maduro and all Venezuelan revolutionaries to announce our withdrawal from this International Criminal Court.”
Rodríguez added: “We must declare our departure from this deceitful organization that serves no one’s rights.”
The assembly leader noted: “The killing of civilians in Gaza and the attack on Iran have divided global opinion-between those opposing Netanyahu as a war criminal and those hypocritically justifying his actions.”
