Baghdad calls US strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities a regional threat
Basim al-Awadi, spokesperson for the Iraqi government, condemned reported U.S. targeting of nuclear facilities inside Iran, stating such actions endanger regional stability and peace in the Middle East. His remarks were reported by webangah News Agency.
“Attacking nuclear facilities within Iran is a grave threat to Middle Eastern security and destabilizes the entire region,” al-Awadi said. He reiterated Iraq’s firm opposition to the use of force in international relations and called for respect toward national sovereignty, particularly regarding critical nuclear infrastructure.
“Military solutions cannot replace dialog and diplomacy,” he added. Al-Awadi warned that continued attacks could lead to further escalation.
