What is Tel Aviv’s biggest challenge after war with Iran?
According to webangah News Agency, Avigdor lieberman, leader of the “Yisrael Beiteinu” party, stated that one of Israel’s key challenges after its war with Iran will be drafting a new budget for 2025. The current budget is unrealistic and inadequate for covering the costs incurred during the conflict.
Lieberman emphasized that modifying the existing budget or implementing across-the-board cuts to ministry budgets would be unachievable.
“The cost of war with Iran was extremely high,” lieberman said, noting expenditures reached 22 billion shekels. He added that replenishing military stockpiles remains an additional financial burden.
The party leader further revealed that economic disruptions during just one day of conflict amounted to approximately 1.5 billion shekels in losses.
The economic damages amount to over 18 billion shekels, according to reports.
Lieberman emphasized that the compensation figure reaches 5 billion shekels, meaning the total cost could exceed 45 billion dollars-approximately 10% of the 2025 budget.
