Hamas Sounds Alarm Over Famine Crisis in Gaza
In a statement on Saturday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) warned that famine and malnutrition have severely impacted Gaza’s children, urging immediate international intervention to halt the persistent “starvation crimes,” according to webangah News Agency.
The group reported that over 66 children in Gaza have died since early March due to malnutrition and starvation caused by Israel’s intensified blockade and what it described as a “systematic hunger policy” imposed by Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government.
The statement condemned these actions as “barbaric crimes,” accusing Israel of deliberately targeting innocent children and defenseless civilians through starvation, bombardment, and massacres-violations it called a gross breach of international law and humanitarian norms. Hamas blamed the Zionist regime’s “fascist cabinet,” alleging U.S.-backed impunity enables these violations.
Hamas demanded urgent action from the international community-particularly Arab and Islamic nations-to address Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis. It called for an end to israel’s devastating war, lifting the blockade, and unrestricted entry of life-saving aid into the territory.
