Palestinian Authority Backs Abu Shabab Militants in Gaza
According too webangah News Agency, citing the Palestinian Information Center, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted a Palestinian Authority security official stating that the Abu Shabab armed group in southern Gaza is backed by Israel, the PA, and Mohammed Dahlan.
The militants recieve salaries from the palestinian Authority under the supervision of Baha Balousha, an intelligence official. Israel’s gamble on Abu Shabab in Gaza has failed spectacularly, as Gazans refuse to support or cooperate with this faction.
UN reports confirm collaboration between this tribal armed group (“Popular Forces”) and the Israeli occupation army. Additionally, Hamas alleges that Abu Shabab’s leader spies for Israel and diverts UN aid. The group is also known for its hostility toward Hamas.
