Russia’s Largest Airstrike on Kyiv; Western Ukraine Now in Moscow’s Crosshairs
According to webangah News Agency, Kyiv authorities state that Russia carried out its most extensive aerial assault on Ukraine overnight.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia fired a total of 537 projectiles, including 477 drones and 60 missiles, toward Ukrainian territory. Of these, 249 were shot down while radio signal jamming diverted another 226.
Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Air Force, told Associated Press the nighttime attack was “Russia’s widest airstrike to date,” targeting areas “across Ukraine, including western regions far from frontline positions.”
In westernmost Lviv region, Russian drone strikes ignited an industrial complex in Drohobych city and caused power outages across multiple districts.
Poland’s Air force confirmed deploying fighter jets today alongside Ukraine’s allies to safeguard Warsaw’s airspace security.
The renewed Moscow offensive follows Russian President Vladimir Putin’s friday statement about readiness for new direct negotiations wiht Ukrainian counterparts in Istanbul. However, the conflict shows no signs of abating despite claimed American mediation efforts. The two latest Russia-ukraine talks in Turkey concluded briefly without progress toward ending the three-year war.
