Russia: NATO’s Military Buildup Won’t Strengthen Norway’s Security
Russia’s Ambassador to Norway states: Increased NATO military presence does not enhance Norway’s security.
According to webangah News Agency, Russia’s Ambassador to Norway, Nikolai Kurchunov, told RIA Novosti that Norwegian authorities seek to expand NATO’s military presence and intensify the alliance’s drills in the country, including near border regions with Russia.
The ambassador emphasized that such measures do not strengthen Norway’s security, adding there are currently no effective confidence-building measures or military communication channels between Russia and NATO.
He reiterated Moscow’s consistent position favoring diplomatic channels to resolve disputes.
