Saleh al-Arabi: Tehran and Doha Determined to Cooperate for Stability
In an interview with Al Arabiya TV, Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar, Ali Salehabadi, stated: “We emphasize our steadfast adherence to the policy of good neighborliness and strengthening fraternal relations, especially with Qatar.” He described Iran-Qatar relations as a model of coordination and understanding amid regional challenges.
The ambassador added that both nations have exchanged positions and assessments through direct high-level contacts. “Qatari and Iranian officials have expressed mutual willingness to de-escalate tensions,” he said, noting Tehran and Doha’s determination for joint action to preserve stability.
Salehabadi acknowledged Qatar’s constructive role in advancing regional cooperation: “We reiterate full respect for Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Our defensive measures solely respond to sources of aggression without targeting third parties.”
He concluded that bilateral relations have demonstrated resilience through crises: “We stand ready to expand cooperation horizons with Qatar in ways that serve both nations’ interests.”
