Doha and Tehran Committed to Cooperation for Regional Stability: Salehi-Ansari to Al-Araby
In an interview with Al Arabiya TV, Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar Ali Salehabadi stated: “We emphasize our steadfast adherence to the policy of good neighborliness and strengthening fraternal relations, especially with Qatar.” He described Iran-Qatar relations as a model of coordination and mutual understanding amid regional challenges.
The ambassador added: “Through direct dialog between officials, we have exchanged positions and assessments with Qatar. Both Qatari and Iranian sides expressed their willingness to de-escalate tensions. Tehran and Doha are determined to take joint action and cooperate in maintaining stability.”
Salehabadi noted: “We appreciate Qatar’s constructive role in promoting regional cooperation. We fully respect Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.Our actions are defensive in nature, responding solely to sources of aggression without targeting any third party.”
He concluded: “Iran-Qatar relations have demonstrated their resilience in overcoming crises caused by external conditions. We stand ready to expand bilateral cooperation frameworks with Qatar in ways that serve both nations’ interests.”
