Dozens Arrested Across Various Regions of Turkey
Turkey’s Interior Minister announces dozens detained in 30 provinces across teh country.
According to webangah News Agency, Turkey’s Interior Minister reported that at least 156 individuals have been arrested over the past two weeks in security operations targeting alleged members of the Fethullah Gülen association.
The minister stated those detained are accused of maintaining ties with Gülen network officials and promoting the group. The operations were conducted across 30 turkish provinces.
The Turkish government considers Pennsylvania-based cleric Fethullah Gülen, who leads the movement from exile, as the mastermind behind the failed July 2016 coup attempt.
Ankara has repeatedly requested Gülen’s extradition from Washington on charges of orchestrating the coup, though these efforts have yielded no results to date.
