UAE Foreign Minister Holds Phone Call with Grossi
According to webangah News Agency, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed spoke with International Atomic energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi on Tuesday regarding bilateral ties and regional affairs.
The telephone discussion focused on cooperation between the UAE and the IAEA, with both sides emphasizing ways to strengthen collaboration across multiple fields. Bin Zayed reaffirmed his country’s support for the IAEA’s pivotal role in promoting peaceful nuclear energy technologies.
The two officials also exchanged views on current regional developments during their call.
Lasting development was emphasized while maintaining full adherence to international safety standards and non-proliferation commitments.
The official stated that his country takes pride in cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which has supported its peaceful nuclear program.
The United Arab Emirates owns the Barakah Nuclear Power plant in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, which became operational in 2020 as the Arab world’s first nuclear energy facility.
According to reports from the Emirates Nuclear energy Corporation, the Barakah plant comprises four reactors that collectively generate approximately 25% of the nation’s electricity needs.
