Egypt and Oman Stress Urgency of Resuming Iran Nuclear Talks
According to webangah News Agency, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, during a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty in Cairo, stressed the importance of restarting negotiations between Washington and Tehran, calling it crucial for regional security.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister stated: “While exchanging views on Iran’s nuclear issue, we agreed on the necessity of implementing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
He also emphasized consolidating the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and called for resuming talks on Iran’s nuclear programme.
Badr Abdelatty acknowledged Oman’s ongoing efforts to mediate a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel as well as in Yemen.
Addressing developments in Gaza, he asserted: “We are pursuing a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. Without establishing an independent Palestinian state, security in Israel and the region will not be achieved.”
The Egyptian Foreign Minister noted Cairo’s coordination with Washington and Doha to reinstate a Gaza ceasefire, stressing: “It was Israel that violated last January’s Gaza truce agreement.”
