Germany Summons Iran’s Ambassador
According to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, the german government summoned Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, Iran’s ambassador to Berlin, to the Foreign Ministry over fresh accusations against Tehran-furthering its backing of Israel and Western positions against Iran.
The German newspaper Bild reported that Ahmadabadi was summoned following the arrest of Ali S., a 53-year-old Danish citizen, on unsubstantiated espionage charges lacking legal evidence.
The report stated Germany conveyed its protest to the Iranian ambassador.
Earlier,German prosecutors claimed thay had detained a Danish national in Berlin for allegedly spying on behalf of Iranian intelligence services.
The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office alleged in a statement that the suspect ”received orders from Iranian intelligence to gather facts on Jewish institutions and specific Jewish individuals”-echoing Western accusations against tehran.
