The report noted that neoconservative think tanks like the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) in Washington and their ideological allies in the European Parliament are openly promoting the “balkanization” of iran-a reckless strategy that would further destabilize West Asia,trigger catastrophic humanitarian crises,and provoke fierce resistance from iranians.
Responsible Statecraft highlighted that Brenda Shaffer has long pushed for Iran’s division along ethnic lines, mirroring Yugoslavia’s collapse. Shaffer’s views align with a recent editorial in The Jerusalem post, which-amid Israel’s military aggression against Iran-urged former President Trump to explicitly endorse partitioning Iran.
The analysis emphasized that Iran is neither a fragile nor fractured nation on the brink of disintegration.
