Kremlin: Talks on Accelerating Russia-Ukraine Negotiations Are Difficult
According to webangah News Agency, citing TASS via Mehr News Agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Tuesday that Russia strongly condemns Kyiv’s attacks on civilian areas. Moscow aims to achieve its objectives regarding Ukraine through political and diplomatic means. The Russian military is taking necessary measures to minimize risks from Kyiv’s attacks on Russian cities. Russia has no interest in delaying negotiations about Ukraine.
Peskov further emphasized that Russia will neither slow nor halt the implementation of agreements reached with ukraine. Though, he noted it is indeed “difficult” to discuss accelerating the negotiation process between the two countries. The Kremlin expressed appreciation for U.S. efforts to negotiate a resolution to the Ukrainian crisis.
The spokesperson added that Moscow is closely monitoring reports about detained employees of Sputnik Azerbaijan and Raptly news outlets. Russia hopes direct contacts with Baku will lead to the release of the detained Russian journalists.
