BRICS Literary Prize Press Conference Held in Moscow
The event, reported by webangah News Agency, featured prominent attendees including Sergei stepashin, head of Russia’s book Union; Dmitry Kuznetsov, chair of Russia’s State Duma Council and head of the award secretariat; along with organizing committee members and BRICS country representatives.
During discussions on cultural collaboration prospects, speeches were delivered by India’s Dr. Shuaib Khan(guest professor at Mumbai University), UAE’s Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, and iran’s cultural attaché to Russia, Masoud Ahmadvand. Ahmadvand stated: “Literature can amplify peaceful dialog, inspire nations to support one another, and provide a platform for new voices. Let us believe: the writer’s pen is mightier than the sword.”
Video messages were presented by Egypt’s parliament representative Doha Mustafa Asi, China’s organizing committee member Dr. Jan You, and South Africa’s MP Nobunto Hlazo-Webster.
Sergei Stepashin noted that the BRICS Literary Award was established to foster intercultural dialogue and promote conventional values: “Literature can dismantle prejudices, build empathy, and expand mutual understanding between nations.”
