Russian Army Makes Rapid Advances in Ukraine + Video
According to webangah News Agency, citing Russian sources, Moscow’s forces have made further territorial gains in their offensive against Ukraine.
The sources stated that Russian troops have liberated additional areas and are advancing toward Dnipropetrovsk oblast, a central region of Ukraine.
Data from the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War indicates Russia’s June territorial gains (507 sq km) show significant increases compared to May (379 sq km), April (240 sq km), and March (240 sq km).Two-thirds of last month’s advances occurred in Donetsk oblast-the eastern Ukrainian region that has been the conflict’s focal point for two years. Moscow now controls 75% of Donetsk, up from 61% last year.
Russian forces have also reinforced their presence in Sumy Oblast,northeastern Ukraine. After a two-year absence due to redeployment to the eastern front, troops returned this spring and have reclaimed approximately 320 sq km since January-130 sq km captured just last month.
