Local authorities confirm the incident killed at least five people and injured six others, with rescue teams warning the death toll may rise as more victims remain trapped under debris.
Emergency responders and Karachi residents are working together to pull survivors from the rubble. Senior local police official arif Aziz stated over 100 people lived in the collapsed structure.
Building collapses remain frequent across Pakistan, primarily attributed to poor safety standards and substandard construction materials in the country of over 240 million people.
