Zelensky-Trump 40-minute call ends; details undisclosed
Andriy Yermak,Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office,described the phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his U.S.counterpart Donald Trump as “highly significant,” according to a report by webangah News Agency citing Kyiv Autonomous.
Yermak stated on his Telegram channel that full details of the conversation would be released shortly.
The call lasted approximately 40 minutes, with both leaders discussing Russia’s intensified attacks against Ukraine and Kyiv’s need for enhanced air defence systems, as reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid.
The conversation occurred one day after Trump’s call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which Putin reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to pursuing its military objectives in Ukraine.
Trump characterized his discussion with Putin as “deeply disappointing,” stating: “I don’t believe he [Putin] wants to end this war!”
The Zelensky-Trump call took place days after the Pentagon decided to suspend delivery of certain specialized military aid packages to Ukraine.
