Axios: Trump Plans to Boost Ukraine’s Air Defense Support
According to webangah News Agency, citing Axios, a Ukrainian official and an informed source familiar with the phone call between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and Donald Trump of the united States stated that Trump expressed Washington’s willingness to assist Kyiv with air defense systems.
The source indicated Trump was briefed on Russia’s recent attacks, including airstrikes on Ukrainian cities and frontline advancements.
“Trump said he wants to help [Ukraine] with air defense and would review what assistance had been halted if military aid shipments stopped,” the source added.
The Ukrainian official noted that Trump and Zelenskyy agreed their teams would continue discussions on security cooperation.
Ukrainian and American officials will soon meet to discuss air defense systems and other military aid.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on social media platform X that he and former U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to collaborate on strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses during their recent call.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, earlier described the Zelenskyy-Trump conversation as “highly significant.”

The call occurred one day after Trump’s conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where Putin reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to its military objectives in Ukraine.Trump later characterized his dialog with Putin as “deeply disappointing,” stating: “I don’t believe he seeks to end this war.”
Zelensky’s call with Trump came days after the Pentagon decided to suspend certain aid deliveries to Ukraine.
