France and Malaysia Back Gaza Ceasefire
French President Emmanuel Macron and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim renewed their demand for an immediate end to hostilities in Gaza during a meeting in Paris, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
“Our two nations strongly urge an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities, the establishment of a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and unimpeded access to humanitarian aid desperately needed in Gaza,” Macron stated during the talks.
The French leader expressed appreciation for international mediation efforts toward achieving a truce and called for swift conclusions regarding current proposed peace plans.
Macron added: “In the short term, given the intolerable humanitarian situation, Israel bears responsibility to ensure civilian populations can access humanitarian assistance.”
Prime Minister Ibrahim affirmed both countries’ shared position on ending the Gaza conflict and supporting ceasefire initiatives.
