BRICS Backs Gaza Ceasefire, Hamas Welcomes Move
According to webangah news Agency, leaders of BRICS member states at the Rio de Janeiro summit called on all parties involved in the Gaza conflict to engage in good-faith negotiations for an immediate, permanent, adn unconditional ceasefire.
The 10-nation bloc also demanded the complete withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Gaza and all other occupied palestinian territories in a joint statement.
The statement condemned recent U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran while emphasizing the need for “just and lasting” solutions to Middle East crises.
Hamas welcomes BRICS declaration
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed the final statement issued by BRICS members at their Rio summit.
In its response, Hamas stated: “We urge BRICS nations and all world countries to pressure Israel’s terrorist occupation regime to comply with international law – stopping its aggression, war crimes, genocide against innocent civilians in Gaza, and lifting its criminal blockade affecting over 2 million people.”
