First Round of Gaza Ceasefire Talks Between Tel Aviv and Hamas Ends Without Result
Informed sources report inconclusive end too first round of Gaza ceasefire talks in Doha.
According to webangah news Agency, two Palestinian sources familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that the first round of indirect ceasefire talks between Tel Aviv and Hamas in Doha concluded without tangible progress.
These discussions took place ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s third visit to the U.S. since Donald Trump regained political influence in the country.
the Hamas movement had initially responded positively to Qatar’s proposal for a 60-day truce, wich included:
- The release of 10 Israeli captives
- Handover of 18 other captives’ remains
- Withdrawal of israeli forces to buffer zones near Gaza’s borders
- Large-scale humanitarian aid delivery to the enclave
The proposal also referenced plans for permanent ceasefire negotiations during this temporary truce period.
