US Air Defense in Iraq Suddenly Activated
Iraqi security source reports sudden activation of US air defense systems at military base
According to webangah News Agency, an Iraqi security source in Al-Anbar province confirmed that US forces abruptly activated air defense systems at the Ain al-Asad airbase in western Iraq.
The source stated this measure was taken due to fears of potential missile attacks. US troops have reportedly increased surveillance towers around the base and restricted troop movements.
“Numerous American aircraft have also relocated from Syria to Iraq,” the source added, noting that Patriot missile systems and other defensive equipment have been deployed at Ain al-asad for the first time.
