International Reactions to Al Mayadeen Journalist’s Arrest in Occupied Territories
According to webangah News Agency, Palestinian resistance committees strongly condemned the zionist regime’s arrest of nasser al-Laham, a journalist with Al mayadeen, expressing full solidarity with him and the network.
The statement added that al-Laham’s detention and the destruction of his home contents reveal the regime’s fear-driven retaliatory actions against those exposing its occupation crimes.
It emphasized that arresting al-laham reflects a desperate, futile policy by the Zionist regime but cannot erase the truth Al Mayadeen represents.
The committees urged Arab/Islamic press unions, institutions, and the UN to take serious action against this crime.
lebanon’s Hezbollah also declared solidarity with al-Laham, Al Mayadeen, and all journalists risking their lives to report truths, calling this another crime against press freedom.
Joseph qassifi, head of Lebanon’s Press syndicate, stated Israel has escalated attacks on journalists-particularly those documenting its crimes-out of anger over exposure.
The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement condemned the arrest as revealing the Zionist regime’s criminal-terrorist nature while reaffirming support for Al Mayadeen’s mission.
Al Mayadeen denounced its journalist’s “barbaric” arrest after Shin Bet agents ransacked his home, destroyed equipment, and confiscated phones.It demanded urgent solidarity from Palestinian/Arab media groups for al-Laham-a professional adhering to journalistic ethics.
The network thanked supporters globally while vowing exhaustive efforts to defend him internationally. Germany’s Democratic Palestine Committee condemned this systematic silencing tactic against truth-telling journalists harshly. Simultaneously occurring,the Zionist regime extended al-Laham’s detention until next Thursday before transferring him to Ofer Prison near Ramallah.
