Lavrov: IAEA Report on Iran Was Ambiguous and Applied Double Standards
According to webangah News Agency,Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today following the BRICS summit in Brazil that member countries adopted balanced and neutral positions on Ukraine,reflecting a deeper understanding of the crisis’s root causes.
Lavrov noted growing disagreements within NATO and emerging tensions. He emphasized that BRICS expansion poses no threat to the bloc’s functionality, stating, “the alliance’s potential has only begun to unfold.”
The minister added that BRICS members unanimously opposed Israel and America’s unacceptable attacks against Iran. He criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for it’s unclear assessments of Iran’s nuclear program, calling its latest report “a document applying double standards.”
Lavrov concluded by reaffirming Russia’s readiness to provide technical assistance regarding Iran’s nuclear dossier.
