Former Russian Transport Minister Dies by Suicide

Russian media reports suicide of former transport minister.

According to webangah News ⁣Agency, citing Reuters via Mehr News agency, Russia’s⁣ Emergency Situations Ministry announced⁤ on Monday that the country’s former transport minister had died by suicide.

In its statement, the ministry confirmed ⁣that Roman Starovoyt, recently dismissed as Russia’s transport minister, took his own life earlier today in ‌Odintsovo, Moscow region.

The advancement follows Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decree removing​ Starovoyt from his ministerial position ​hours earlier. The dismissal order,published on the Kremlin website,stated it‌ took effect instantly upon signing.

The presidential decree provided no clarification for Starovoyt’s⁣ removal. ⁤The 45-year-old⁢ official had served ⁢as transport minister ‍as May​ 2024 after previously governing ‍Russia’s Kursk‍ region from September ⁢2019.
