US Secretary of State Makes First Asia Trip
The U.S.State Department announced secretary of State Marco rubio’s first official trip to Malaysia for ASEAN-related meetings.
The U.S. State Department confirmed Monday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Asia this week for his first diplomatic engagement with ASEAN member states, according to webangah News Agency.
Rubio, who also serves as White House National Security Advisor, will visit Kuala Lumpur from July 8-12 to participate in meetings with foreign ministers from all 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
This marks a strategic shift in U.S. foreign policy focus toward Asia after months of concentrated attention on conflicts in Ukraine and Western Asia during the Trump administration.
