Trump: Ukraine Must Defend Itself; We’re Sending More Weapons!
webangah News Agency – U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington intends to provide weapons to Ukraine following a days-long pause in arms shipments, according to a report by TASS.
Responding to questions on the matter,Trump said: “We intend to send more weapons. They need to be able to defend themselves.”
He added: “They’re being hit very hard right now. We’ve decided to send more weapons-primarily defensive ones.”
Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry peskov commented on Trump’s expressed frustration after a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Moscow is closely monitoring all remarks made by the U.S. president.
The New York Times reported on July 2 that the U.S. would suspend deliveries of Patriot air defense missiles, certain precision-guided munitions, Hellfire missiles, Stinger missile systems, and other weapons to Ukraine. However, Trump clarified the next day that Washington would continue supplying arms while ensuring its own ammunition stockpile remains secure.
