Moscow: 60% Uranium Enrichment Is Iran’s Decisive Response to Illegal Sanctions

Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Geneva defended Iran, calling its 60% uranium enrichment a response to “illegal ⁢sanctions and unfriendly pressure.”

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations based in Geneva, stated that⁣ Iran’s 60% uranium enrichment is a direct response to unlawful Western sanctions. His remarks came ⁢in ⁤reply to an X (formerly‌ Twitter) post questioning why american journalist Tucker Carlson didn’t ask Iranian ‌President Masoud Pezeshkian about the enrichment during their recent interview.

The‍ diplomatic exchange followed Carlson’s widely publicized⁢ interview with ⁣President Pezeshkian. An X user criticized⁤ carlson for ⁢failing to ⁣address Iran’s high-level uranium enrichment during the conversation.

Ulyanov responded: ‍”Don’t ‍you think 60% enrichment is merely a countermeasure-a response‌ to illegal sanctions and hostile pressure?” He added: “It appears this countermeasure has been highly effective,‌ as it has visibly ⁢unsettled those trying to pressure iran.”
